Princess Camera Critter

A photographer here in town ordered two of my already made camera critters, as well as a custom princess camera critter. Yes, the little pink/purple spots are butterflies. She was soooo happy to have them for her photo shoots this week. Can't wait for her to tell me how they worked out for her.

Shape Monster Puppet

A lady from American Falls, Idaho asked me to make a monster that ate shapes. This is what I came up with. You can see the indented part that actually has an enclosed "pouch" to collect the different shapes.

It eats them to a silly little song.
Shape monster, Shape monster, munch, munch, munch,
How about a red triangle for lunch.
Then it goes through other colored shapes. And of course the monster eats them.
As you can tell Joe just HAD to be in the picture with the shape monster. He LOVED her!! Of course who wouldn't love a monster that is fully capable of devouring three Hot-wheels at a time.

These party hats are fun to make, and reusable!! And BEST of all you can lay them flat in-between b-days!!

I do have one problem with them. My tangram type hat for Adam needs to be redone.

Dino Tail

P5310602

So here is Joe with his new Dino tail. He loves everything about it except for how he can’t eat very well with it on. And best of all, another super easy thing to make!!P5310603

Bug net and Bag

IMG_3929

This bug net is SUPER awesome!! Or at least Joe and Isaac think so!! Now where did those plastic insects go?IMG_3930IMG_3932

I made this little reversible bag last night. I LOVE corduroy and it looks great!! It is the perfect size for a regular set of scriptures and a little extra room. With IMG_3933a large pocket on the blue side for holding things you don’t want to loose.

Crayons, Crayons, Crayons!!!

IMG_2939

I just LOVE it!! The crayon holding slots are big enough to change out the crayons for jumbo ones, markers, pencils, whatever!! And you can choose to have it this way, or with the crayons and flower print on the inside. And best of all. I didn’t use a pattern and it turned out perfect on the first try!!

This next crayon and notebook holder is super fun!! It’s like a crayon roll, but it folds in three. You leave one of the spots open and big enough for a 3X5 regular spiral bound notebook. I opted for making my own though. I hope this girl is super excited to have this!!

Just for Fun!!

Here are some things I have made this week. They won't be staying at my house, but hopefully will have good homes to go to soon.

The more that I see these two characters the more I am starting to like them. Joe was trying to help me make these guys, so I had to do a cosmetic cover-up on the puppet to the right, but I think her lips look great!!

And then this is a larger crayon roll (seriously easy to make!!), hat and apron. I love all of those cute girlie prints, but alas only have boys so I am glad they are doing a benefit for a family in my ward this weekend.

Easter Presents!!

These are a few things that I made for the boys Easter baskets for this year.

Joe is getting a safari print chef hat, apron, and crayon roll. Now I am going to tell you something that if you sew at all you are probably going to laugh at me for. I have had a new sewing machine for a while now, and it has an automatic button hole maker, cool I can handle that. But it also has a button sewing on function and foot. I have been avoiding using it knowing I will be the one person who is lucky enough to not be able to figure it out. Turns out it is WAY easy to use!!

Isaac is getting a green chef hat and apron, but with a snail backpack instead (yeah crayons are still just part of a diet to him). And now for the other confession. I have always been intimidated by interfacing. Don't ask me why... I think it might have to do with the fact that my mother always says it's sooo easy no one can mess it up. But come to find out. It really is that easy. I have had it and been avoiding it for years, but not anymore!!

Board Game

This is a board game that I made from an old tattered and torn Little Engine that Could book, a deck of cards missing multiple pieces, an old magnetic board that I wasn't using for anything, and bits of paper from cards and other things. We have loved the book, but it had seen better days. Joe (my almost 3 year old) loves it, and it is hilarious to see him and my very animated little sister play it. For the cards I made alphabet flash cards with a short easy exercise for each letter, and at the bottom it tells you how many spaces to move. So this game is gonna be great for in the car (hence the magnet) and for quick easy flash cards(with or without the game).

This board game idea came from a challenge by http://www.greenisuniversal-reuse.com/ wherein you use things that are normally just tossed into a landfill to make useful things.

Bunny Baggy

So here are some Easter basket bunnies that I have made tonight. Why yes you do stuff them with candy!! They were super easy to make, but my husband thinks that they are too girly for our boys. So yea for a fun surprise for my Primary class I guess.

Puppets done!!

These first three puppets are for a fundraiser my brother's scout troop is doing. I hope that whoever gets these guys loves them!! Should be some happy kids come the end of the month!! (And sorry...I know the pics aren't the best)

This puppet is one that I have been making for my Dad. He wants to use it to tell stories to kids. All that is left to do is attach the fuzzy hair, eyes, and decide what he would like to do with the arms(stationary, or not). I am really thankful that he looked at what I had been making and thought that I could make something better. So here's to you Pop!!

Camera Critters!!

These camera critters are awesome for taking pictures of little ones, you just slip them over a camera lens. They have a squeaker on the left side (when you are taking the picture so as to not interfere with the picture taking button). We love these and hope that you will too!

Puppets, oh Puppets!!

I just got a custom order for puppets that I am really excited about. It is for a fundraiser for a Boy Scout group up in Lincoln Montana. I will be making three puppets for them!! I can't wait to let you all see how they turn out. Now just to go shopping!

Camera Critters and Pin Cushions

These camera critters are for taking pics of little ones. You just slip them over a camera lens and then squeak the squeaker(soon to be added as soon as I order them). So far I have only made a few, but have started elephants, cats, frogs, and so much more!

This flower is now a pin cushion with a thread catcher attached to it with Velcro. I added the Velcro so that it is easily removable when you want to empty your trash you don't have to drag your pins across the house to do it. Or if you decide that you only want the pin cushion you aren't left with a bag attached.I had fun figuring out a pattern for this flower. Not surprisingly as hard as I had imagined!

Maybe an etsy shop?

I recently bought a Brother PC420 sewing machine. It has lots of fun stitches, but MANY of them are just girly. And because I live in a house ruled by boys I need a few manly stitches. This machine lets you make your own stitches and save them on the machine, but it is a bit of hard work getting it all done. And I haven't been able to find ANYWHERE online where people have posted their stitches they have made. So I have had to be creative and make my own. I think I might sell the stitches, puppets, and other things I make on etsy. I am just frankly afraid that I will get caught up in etsy and ignore my family. So I am trying to get ahead and make a few things and have them on stock so that I can see about how much I would actually need to do to have a nice balance between etsy and life.
Trees
Clover
Helicopter
Truck
SOOO... Here are an example of a few of the stitches I have made. Let me know what you think!
I know that they are small, but you can't make larger custom images.

A couple months of things

I know it's been forever since I posted last. So here goes. I will just put up a few of the projects I have done this week.

First to do is a dino hat I made for Joe last night. I know it looks kinda funny, but there is only so much you can expect without a pattern on a first try. Besides Joe loves it!

Here is a hippo I made the other night. It still needs its face, and a tail, but I haven't got the look I like yet. So she will just have to wait until inspiration hits.

I have also made curtains, nursing covers, and tried my hand at making little kids shoes (I will need a pattern).
